I saw that this was published some years ago, but I have waited so long for someone to write this ending. I didn´t dare to write it myself because I thought people would think it was silly that they would all reunite in the end ("I don´t think Tolkien intended it to be so" etc. etc.) but it isn´t silly. I´m glad I´m not alone to want a happy end! :)

I suppose there´s no great reason to give critisism on such an old piece (at least not judging by how much I have developed in only a few years) but it´s great. You´re an awesome writer. Truly a heart-warming story, but still without feeling too happy; it fits with what Tolkien wrote. Thank you for giving me the end I hoped for! :)

This is so beautiful. I presume this is the time after the last battle (Dagor Dagoroth), when all Children of Iluvatar (and those who are not) meet again?

I like it, that you did not try to explain where they came and what it looked like, because that would have taken a lot of magic from the story.

Totally. But I meant as parrallel... I have no intent on saying our world is Tolkien's- I know that is wrong, against the Bible. I will never say that. Anyway, the manmade thing is true. But can we really create these things on our own? But totally- I never even considered Tolkien's work as our world- impossible from every point.

Author's Response:

Did I never respond to this? I thought I did! Anyway, I see what you are saying. Still, I LOVE Tolkien's world and WISH it were real! *grin*

Ok, yes, it must be kept in perspective, but again, who's to say it isn't real? I believe one should not say it is real or isn't... that is not *our* place. Perspective is. If I think God is going to tell me everything He did, I'm getting to big for my own good, but then again, who's to say whatever I want to be real is? But that is my opinon, and I'm not saying I think God created Arda, but there is this teensy weensy (trillion whatevers to one) possibilty... *grins insanly*!

Author's Response:

Who's to say it isn't real? Me, that's who. Tolkien never meant his work to be taken literally OR as an allegory. But the history of Arda goes against the Biblical accound of creation, so therefore that would show it is NOT true. The Word of God is absolute truth...not Tolkien, as much as I love living in fantasy. I believe we should stand up for the truth that God himself presented and not live too much in manmade copies...especially since Prof. Tolkien styled his world after many PAGAN myths. To mix the two would be a grave error. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Tolkien's world and it is great for play, but you have to keep the truth of the word of God in the forefront and now our human desires. What God has for us is beyond our wildest imagination and greater than any fantasy any man can ever create.

*cheers erupt* Bravo! Bravo! Christian? I would have spent slightly more time on explaining Iluvatar than anything else, how indescribable He really is, instead of stalling bring Aragorn and Gimli into the picture. But still- bravo, dear sister! I would have liked Jesus, (though in my mind Eru could be Jesus), nay, I would have adored, but still... ! Beautiful... and so true. Not The End, but so as well. The Beginning of the Glorious. Aglar.

Author's Response:

I never cease to be amazed at the number of Christians I meet through LOTR! God just won't let me run, will he? sigh. Yes...Christian...but not in church at the moment.

Funny you should say you wanted more detail on Iluvatar...others said it was better to NOT have detail and I agree, for who can describe the indescribible? I found it more powerful to leave it unsaid...and personally, I think heaven will be many joyous reunions after the initial shock of seeing the Creator face to face. But I wasn't writing OUR ending, but the ending of Arda and the elves and specifically the end for the Three Hunters. (or the beginning? *grin*) This is fantasy, not reality and while I love the parallels, they are two separate things and should be kept that way, at least in my opinion.

Still, I am very happy you enjoyed it anyway.  Thanks for reviewing!

I will check out that stanza again...did you change something in it?
